Add some Christmas sparkle to your social media campaign

The high street is already bringing out the tinsel, so why aren’t you?

The festive season is one of the best times for businesses to engage with consumers, particularly through Social Media, with brands like Starbucks and John Lewis leading the pack.

Stuck for ideas? Make More Noise Account Executive, Emily Branson, has pulled together her top tips for spreading festive cheer and increasing consumer engagement via Social this Christmas:

Decorate

As soon as December rolls in, it’s worth sprucing up your website and socials with some holiday themed graphics. It might just be the case of adding some snow to your logo or dangling some fairy lights in the background of your Instagram images, but it will prove you’re not a scrooge in the annual time of cheer.

The Personal Touch

Christmas is all about being personal and giving things from your heart. You might not know your costumers or fans personally but it’s easy to let them know you’re thinking about them and wishing them well for the holiday period. It could be a simple thing like wishing them a merry Christmas on social media, or sending out a Christmas newsletter. Or, if you want to go above and beyond, why not send a small Christmas token? Not only will this help to promote your brand, but will also give your consumers something physical to remember you by.

12 Days of Christmas

One of the best ways you can interact with consumers is over social media. So, in the run up to Christmas, turn the classic song into a social media campaign over 12 days of Twitter. From sharing content that’s relevant to your brand such as facts, videos, behind the scenes pictures or even promotions to personally interacting with your followers with seasonal recipes, ornaments, favourite Christmas tracks or even sharing your pets dressed up, you’ll be spreading Christmas cheer, whilst engaging with customers old and new.

Spread the Joy

A great way to create exposure and buzz for your brand is by running a giveaway or creating a competition. Encourage followers to share, like or comment on your posts to win something and you’ll find yourself gaining new fans, whilst cementing your relationship with older ones.

Some final tips: Make sure you schedule some social media posts while you’re busy celebrating the festive season to keep your socials active, and tailor the posts to your different social media channels, and the different demographics who use them.
